Brand New. Built August 2023. Custom Concert, handmade in Italy built with only italian timber locally and responsibly sourced. Top soundboard is made with Italian Spruce and Curly Maple for back and sides. It’s finished with Satin polyurethane and slightly ambered stain, it feels buttery and smooth to touch. The tonal characteristics is what you’d expect from Italian Spruce, it’s punchy and bright paired with maple gives it clarity and the sustain goes for days. The resonance fills the room. For a concert size, it has a boisterous and full sound that it can be mistaken as a Tenor size.

WAIZ instruments builder Paolo Bianchi from Gavirate, Italy started building ukuleles in 2019 while attending the school of lutherie in Milan.  He studied full-time for 4 years.  He learned to build all types of plucked instruments from ancient instruments like renaissance lutes and mandolins to much more modern instruments like the classical and acoustic guitars and electric guitars.  Here he found building ukuleles as a way of expressing his creativity and be able to experiment with shapes, sounds and materials.
