WAIZ Soprano Ukulele - Italian Spruce with Curly Maple

Brand New. Built August 2023. Custom Soprano, handmade in Italy built with only italian timber locally and responsibly sourced. Top soundboard is made with Italian Spruce and curly Maple for back and sides. It is finished with satin polyurethane and slight ambered stain which gives it a buttery smooth feel. With the Italian Spruce paired with Maple the brightness and projection is present. For a small instrument, there is so much sustain and resonant that during our sound sample it made the other instruments ring. It has a very happy and cheerful sound! This is incredibly built, weighs like a feather and clean lines.

WAIZ instruments builder Paolo Bianchi from Gavirate, Italy started building ukuleles in 2019 while attending the school of lutherie in Milan.  He studied full-time for 4 years.  He learned to build all types of plucked instruments from ancient instruments like renaissance lutes and mandolins to much more modern instruments like the classical and acoustic guitars and electric guitars.  Here he found building ukuleles as a way of expressing his creativity and be able to experiment with shapes, sounds and materials.
