Maleny Wood Expo
CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF THE MALENY WOOD EXPO!
Established in 1996, the Maleny Wood Expo was the brainchild of Queensland ranger and passionate Landcare supporter, Ashley Sewell.
The expo is designed to promote sustainable use of our beautiful native timbers through the work of local and regional wood artisans. It is now recognised as one of the best wood shoes in Australia and attracts over 10,000 people to the Sunshine Coast region annually.
You will be able to view a range of crafted timber products, meet and talk to artisans and woodworkers who’ve created them. Learn from local Aboriginal community members about traditional uses of timber and plants through a range of in-depth talks and interactive workshops.
The expo is on 4th - 6th May, 2024 at the Maleny Showgrounds.

Looking to improve your fingerstyle techniques?
Under the title of '4stringboy' Sammy is known as a ukulele virtuoso, combining ambient composition with a modern style of solo playing using harmonics and fingerstyle techniques. Sammy has gained a name for himself as a 'magician of harmonics' and has been featured on 'The Ukulele Site' and 'Ukulele Underground' podcasts.
Sammy has been a music teacher for many years, he is the creator of #fingerstylefursdays fingerstyle tutorials on Instagram, which teaches you the fundamental techniques and core skills necessary to take your skills to the next level. He also teaches online through his Patreon, website and private lessons.
