Brand new, completed November 2025
Luthier-built Baritone ukulele, handcrafted by Paolo Bianchi from Italy. The baritone began as a personal project Paolo carefully developed: he built a true baritone scale into a smaller body — the compact dimensions of a tenor ukulele — creating a unique hybrid that balances low-end depth with portability.
Designed for standard baritone tuning and ideal for gigging musicians who need a lighter, easier-to-handle instrument, it delivers comfortable playability thanks to thoughtful string spacing and low action. The distinctive “half cutaway” is a unique design feature that provides effortless access to the upper frets: the soundboard is bent and glued in a curved position to preserve and maintain that portion of vibrating spruce. Although that area is relatively rigid, Paolo believed the intact spruce can offer more resonance than a conventional cutaway.
Inside, a light yet robust fan bracing pattern ensures good sustain while keeping the soundboard highly responsive and playable. The quarter-sawn soundboard is made from Italian spruce, chosen for its tonal clarity and stability. Binding is applied only to the top, contributing to a clean, minimal aesthetic, and the strap pins are handmade from fine hardwoods for a refined, handcrafted touch. The overall result is a light, compact, portable, and lively baritone that also works well with tenor tuning for players seeking versatility. A tobacco sunburst finish completes the instrument with a classic, elegant appearance.
