Brand New. April 2024. Barron River Tenor ukulele, made in Cairns Australia. Allen McFarlen has been building for over 15 years, he has been mentored by experienced luthiers which has contributed to much of his success today.

This custom ukulele is made with Engelmann Spruce and figured Ambrosia Maple, beautifully crafted with Ebony appointments and finished with high-gloss polyurethane. When Engelmann Spruce and Ambrosia Maple come together, their sound characteristics form a harmonious blend of clarity and warmth. The Engelmann Spruce, which is known for its resonance and responsiveness, offers a crisp and articulate tone with a rich projection. Its bright overtones provide clarity and definition to the sound. Then paired with the Ambrosia Maple, aesthetically pleasing as it features unique distinct grain patterns and colouration, the sound gains depth and warmth. It’s medium density contributes to a balanced tonal palette, which adds sweet and mellow quality to the overall sound. Together, these woods create a balanced and dynamic sonic experience, suitable for a wide range of musical styles and genres.

Playability is great with the added radius on the fretboard provides an even more comfortable feeling, the neck profile is thin which makes bar chords easier to play and ideal for those with smaller hands.
