Jorge Sandoval
Colonia Taval, Venezuela South America
Where he started.
Jorge started his lutherie studies in 2001 with the construction of classical guitar and Venezuelan cuatro.
He later was drawn to ukuleles because of its beauty in sound, their versatility and the great variety that exists - possibilities! This is where he thrived and found the freedom to build and be immersed with its challenges.
“the best is at the end in the varnish stage.”
He says that there isn’t one particular process he enjoys the most in the construction, he appreciates everything to its fullest from the design to the completion!
“There are many pleasant moments, but the best is at the end in the varnish stage.”
The most critical part for him is achieving the desired sound. “I think that dedicating many more hours to the soundboard and keeping a record of soundbars and flexibility is necessary to repeat good results.”
For him it is important to obtain the sound he is looking for, sound that maintains sustain in and find that warmth that captivates the instrument.
“…always improve.”
…. “The difference with other luthiers is nothing more than the way we look for what we need to obtain a great sound, we all look for something and use different ways to obtain it.
My goal is to always improve, give my best to make unique pieces.”
