This is Daniel.

Daniel Lukes, builder of D.G. Lukes Luthier from South London, United Kingdom.

He’s no stranger to stringed instruments, Daniel is a lifelong performing musician, formerly in the band Bellevue Days. He began his lutherie journey in 2016 and his biggest influences have been Rory from Taran Guitars and Beau Hannam, both are innovative and have been a constant source of knowledge and inspiration for him.  

We appreciate where possible, he uses local woods harvested not far from him, with this intimate knowledge of the materials, he’s able to achieve a totally unique sound that can match or even surpass endangered exotics timber.

  • Bought some strings - UkeLogic and Strings by Alex. Both of these are pretty expensive to get shipped to Australia. It's so refreshing to have a local supplier now. They were sent promptly and order arrived and all was correct. Will definitely be back to buy some more.
